History
If one thing has continuously surprised the festival since its birth in 2003, it's our rapid growth. The organizational team at In-Edit.Beefeater had faith that the union of music and cinema would command its audience, but the lack of similar offerings in the country led us to believe that we might soon hit the ceiling. 6 editions and 21.500 spectators later, we're not so sure. It's been short, but intense, the story of In-Edit.Beefeater and its audience:
One of the facts that makes us happiest at this very moment, is that simultaneous to the growth of its audience, the Festival has experienced a tremendous international expansion. In its second (!) year, In-Edit.Beefeater had a blood brother in Santiago de Chile, an event that in the beginning could appear to have been a leap of faith (the same interests in two points separated by 12.000km), but which in 2009, has been confirmed as a reality. And what's more, this year, Buenos Aires, Sâo Paulo and Puebla (Mexico) have been incorporated into the family. The show must go on!
And, of course, during these six years, the In-Edit.Beefeater Festival has attempted to arrive, in feasible measure, to other cities in the country, so that the Festival contents wouldn't be exclusive to the residents of Barcelona. So, for several years, collaboration has been forged with other festivals-Territorios (Seville), Dock of the Bay (Donostia), Cineuropa (Santiago de Compostela), S.O.S 4.8 (Murcia) - and various institutions such as the Local Authorities in Lanzarote and the Film Libraries in Murcia and A Coruña (among other collaborations). These have enabled the music documentary to extend its influence throughout the country. And yes, we know, we gotta get back to Madrid.
