Or how to get from the pasacalles to the liberation of rock'n'roll (through ye-yé). From the 60's (Los Rayos, Los Simuns, Los 3 Carino) and the 80's (ORNI, Escoria Oriental, Los Mestizos) until today (Tres Estrellas, Kiev Cuando Nieva). Agro-pop, goth, and even hard rock: the secret history of Huesca.

We've seen documentaries about the musical movement in Madrid and Barcelona, and even in Vigo, but what's up with Huesca? Los chicos de provincias somos así reveals the full extent of the incognito surrounding this "provincial" city, about which so little is spoken. Well, without becoming an epicentre of world rock Huesca did have an effervescent series of scenes with more merit than befits other Spanish cities. This was a city where the army travelled on donkey-driven carts, where the musicians were obliged to make pasacalles. Where Franco took a stroll every now and then. And from there, thanks to the eagerness of a handful of pioneers, came the liberation of rock'n'roll. The film takes us up-close to Huesca's pop reality, from decade to decade and at the hand of the protagonists. We visit the ye-yé of the 60's (Los Rayos, Los Simuns, Los 3 Carinos), we focus on the 80's (ORNI, Escoria Oriental, Los Mestizos) and we land today (Tres Estrellas, Kiev Cuando Nieva). And there's a bit everything here: Agro-pop, goth somontano, new wave, ska-pop, even the heavy metal of Vade Retro. The secret history of Huesca, nothing more, nothing less.
