Filmed fourteen years ago and never released, this passionate revision of Los Rodriguez' 1994 tour finally sees the light. It's a bubble that trapped the transatlantic band of Andrés Calamaro and Ariel Rot. On tour. Because this is the classic tour documentary, faithful to its characteristics, sober in its execution and memorable in its intention. Here we see what the Rodriguez' are: stuck on buses, loitering in landscapes, talking about houses they lived in, discussing instruments, and sound rehearsals. Calamaro in a hotel room, sipping Maté and talking about Dylan and Tom Waits. And the film continues, with more rock, more Jack Daniels t-shirts, more stoned out riffs, more leather pants, and more guffaws in Argentinean accent. And exhaustion, like on every tour. And fans. And interviews for radio and television. And friends like La Mona Jiménez, Maradona y Fito Páez. Yes, Maradona interviewing Calamaro, who starts playing impromptu guitar. And, unavoidably, the tour itself: the concerts, in its 1994 version and documented here for eternity. 100 Pajaros is the perfect band profile, justly awarded in In-Edit Argentina. A band captured at their zenith with an ebullient Calamaro and a group that's open to anything.
